Commercial-grade soda-lime glass optical windows offer a low-cost alternative to more expensive high-precision optical windows. These windows are suitable for applications that don't require the properties of higher-priced substrates and increased manufacturing costs. However, they still provide good transmission. Typical uses include cover slides, protective glass covers, and glass barriers. They offer the following advantages:
